Jon_Turk

In this week’s episode Jon Turk speaks with Joanna about: the ecstatic joy of the wild; dancing the dance of healing in a prison; waking up with the deep wild; a friendship forged in the Artic; the power and magic within us; we need a consciousness revolution; a bike ride to the Dalai Lama’s birthplace.

For forty years,  Jon Turk has wandered through exotic and remote landscapes and returned to write and speak about his adventures, the people, and the environments that he has encountered. Jon was trained as a scientist and worked for decades in environmental education. Now, he is focused on storytelling as a way of raising awareness of cultural and environmental tipping points – and thereby seeking some level of sanity and sustainability in this oil soaked, internet crazed world. He is the author of “In the Wake of the Jomon: Stone Age Mariners and a Voyage Across the Pacific”, “The Raven’s Gift: A Scientist, A Shaman, and Their Remarkable Journey Through the Siberian Wilderness”, and his newest book “Crocodiles and Ice: A Journey into Deep Wild”.
